Want to know what a spam filter is, or if toepoke.co.uk can handle you playing Tuesday and Thursday nights? You'll find the answers to these questions, and others here.
Not a problem at all. toepoke.co.uk was specifically designed to support multiple games (Tuesday's and Thursday's for example). You can even have toepoke.co.uk handle 2 games on the same day, on the same pitch at the same time if you want!*
Hat off to your commitment by the way! As much as team toepoke would like to
play 3 or 4 times a week, sadly it takes the
development staff
6 days to recover between matches!
* Granted you can't physically play two matches at once
E-mail clients (like Outlook and Gmail) will often try and protect you from spam by placing suspect e-mails into a spam filter.
If you were expecting an e-mail from toepoke.co.uk but it isn't in your inbox, it may have been considered spam and placed into your spam folder.
To counter this you can either mark the e-mail as OK (here's how to do this in Outlook and Gmail) or add the toepoke.co.uk e-mail address to your contacts. Most of the time we will use notification[at]toepoke.co.uk to send messages to you.
Lots of companies use Internet Filters on their network to prevent employees from accessing websites deemed inappropriate.
If you can't access the site from work, you can still e-mail your manager asking them to add your registration. You'll still have to sign up to the site first (somewhere other than your workplace), but once that's done you'll be fine.
If you're the manager of a game and you can't access the site from work you'll have to do the management activites from home, or from your mobile phone ... alternatively if you're feeling brave ask your IT department if they're willing to let you use the site.
toepoke.co.uk is intended to help a few mates have a kick about. That said there's no reason why you can't use the site to help work out who can play and who can't play in a league game.
We'd suggest creating a game as normal and when it comes to assigning sides, put all the players for your league game on the one side. The e-mails that get sent out may look a little odd to your players, but we're sure it'll make sense.
Don't worry, if you ask your manager nicely they can put your name down up to a fortnight in advance.
Your safety is naturally of paramount importance to us, and we have made the web-site as secure as we can. All your details are stored securely in our database, and your details are only shared with other players in your squad.
If you're meeting members for the first time (particularly if you've joined an open game), you are responsible for your own safety. However we would recommend you take some precautions, such as these simple steps:
Arrange to meet in a public and well lit location, the reception of the venue for instance.
Don't offer to give lifts, or accept a lift initially. Wait until your are comfortable in the company of the other players.
Don't exchange address information (home or work) until you've met the players personally (there should be no reason to swap addresses anyway, unless you're organising lifts).
We may share your mobile number with other players in the squad (in case the match is cancelled late in the day).
Inform a family member, friend or work colleague of who you're intending to have a match with, where the game is to be played, and when.
Finally if you have any doubts, politely make your excuses, offer to pay your share of the pitch cost, and leave.
